The Entrepreneurs’ Business Academy & Priorities

The UK Entrepreneurs’ Business Academy (The EBA)

The co-founder and MD of The Entrepreneurs’ Business Academy (The EBA) in the UK, Bev James, very kindly invited us to attend one of her London-based weekend events that introduces folks to The EBA’s new mentoring programme.

The EBA’s co-founder, James Caan, of the BBC TV series Dragons’ Den, was also there speaking to the several hundred people who had made the journey on a Saturday in the summer. (It was our wedding anniversary and we travelled over to the UK from Brussels, Belgium, so we must have thought it well worth the effort….)

Bev James had previously agreed to contribute to our multi-authored book that we’re working on, called Ultimate Life Lessons. We’re really thrilled to have someone of Bev’s reputation and generosity as a co-author of the book. (She’s also MD of the world’s largest coach training school, so as fellow coaches and entrepreneurs, there’s superb business and values synergy with Bev.)

She was also kind enough to introduce us to the delightful Penny Power of Ecademy.com fame, who was also speaking at the EBA event as one of their expert mentors. Penny was also kind enough to agree to contribute to our book. It’s an incredible experience to work with people like Bev and Penny, who are both lovely, kind people, plus they are very generous with their time and assistance .

Our main message here is don’t try to carry out all of your projects by yourself: build a team of skilled, reliable and trustworthy people. Our project management skills, built over decades, come in really useful too! Find superb Joint Venture (JV) partners. Network with people who are successful and giving of their time and experience. Seek out top-notch mentors. Plus, give back yourself when you’ve made it, as exemplified by Bev and Penny!

And the anniversary? Well, we had Champagne after the EBA event in a grand 5* hotel nearby to celebrate our wedding anniversary and how well the day at the EBA had gone, then we had a delicious meal in Quo Vadis in London, recommended by another EBA mentor. A fantastic end to a super day!
